Guest Blog Post and more...

It's been a very busy month for me.  Finishing the fall collection for the runway show, being at a runway show (for those of you who've never been behind the catwalk it's a whirlwind!), being interviewed about the runway show (nervous!), getting my web presence together with the help of my amazing team (MiriamDiannaTamera, and Jim, I cannot thank you enough), oh and having a commissioned piece published in a book!
I had the distinct pleasure of designing the Frida Kahlo cookie box at the request of the delightful Caitlin Freeman a few years back.  I had no idea it would be featured in her book Modern Art Desserts and was sooo excited to find a copy waiting for me at work one morning.  Luckily there were no customers around to witness my hopping up and down like a mad woman when I realized my piece was included and read the sweet note from Caitlin.

Caitlin asked me to write about my experience working on the project for the Blue Bottle blog.  You can read it here.

The book is Amazing! Get it for the art nerd in your life. Get it for the dessert nerd in your life.  As an art and dessert nerd I can tell you, you will not be sorry.  I'm so excited to start cooking my way through it!

In the news!

The San Francisco Chronicle featured Salt Clothing Oakland and Holly Bobisuthi Jewelery on the back page of the style section last sunday, 4/21! Read an excerpt here.

The show went wonderfully, opening with charming casual and fun clothes from Field Day Wearables and hats by T.S. I Love You. Next up was my dear friend Kalico Delafey, multi-talented powerhouse behind Kalico Delafey Millinery with a breathtaking showcase of her noir inspired felt hats.
Salt Clothing and I closed down the show with a super fun runway walk. Thank you to our amazing sponsors, Fluevog shoes, Flora Restaurant, Blue Bottle Coffee, and to all the people who came out to cheer us on!! xo..Holly...

salt clothing launch

I'm so excited to announce that I will be doing the all the jewelry for the Salt Clothing launch! The show is this thursday, April 11th, at the Oakland Metro Opera House. Doors are at 7:30 and it promises to be a fabulous show with additional runway walks by Field Day Wearable and Kalico DeLaFay Millinery. Tickets are available here. As is my way, I've become a bit of a studio hermit for the last 2 months working away expanding the moccasin collection to include much more of my first love, metalsmithing. It's been a wonderful challenge to accessorize 10 outfits with necklaces, earrings, bangles, rings, and belts. All told that's more than 50 pieces produced in my teeny tiny kitchen/studio! And even though I really shouldn't, here is a sneak peak of things to come.... Hope to see you there! xo ..holly...

New Jewelry collection!

Hello friends! I've been working away on some new ideas and some old ideas and at last they've coalesced into something...the moccasin collection!
I'm using traditional moccasin beading techniques to create extremely light weight, wearable jewelry in leather, shell, steel, stone, and silver.
I'm drawing on traditional images of mysticism and transformation. Here's a little peek at some pieces in progress and the 'eye of the moon' necklace. More pictures to come! xo..holly...
